The Legend of Moondyne Joe

By Mark Greenwood About · Illustrated by Frane Lessac About

Moondyne Joe was a bushranger with a difference. Rather than robbing banks or holding up coaches he gained his reputation for being able to escape from any prison cell. He roamed the valleys and creeks at Moondyne Hills wearing a kangaroo-cape and possum-skin slippers winning the affection of the early settlers. The glossary and notes at the rear of the book are useful information about the convict era in Australian history. A true story with interest for varying ages.
