What We Do

Leaping lambs, wriggling worms, marching ants . . . these are just a few of the fabulous creatures eager to show off their skills! The joy of this first picture book is the artwork – Reg Cartwright’s stunning, bold paintings introduce a host of wonderful creatures who tell us what they do – very simply and in their own words.

Reg Cartwright

Reg Cartwright worked as an art director for an advertising agency until one of his illustrations was spotted at an exhibition. He was asked if he could make it into a picture book and Mr Potter’s Pigeon was the result, winning the Mother Goose Award in 1980. Since then, Reg has gone on to illustrate many more acclaimed picture books- some in collaboration with his wife, Ann- which have been translated into several different languages. Much of his inspiration comes from walks in the countryside and the local life of their home county of Leicestershire.
