Edge

Zach has dropped out of high school and grown distant from his girlfriend. He is repelled by the street violence around him, even as he joins in a bloody brawl. Then one day Zach’s father is shot during a robbery. As his father struggles on the edge of death, Zach tries to make sense of his own life. When the suspect goes free for lack of evidence, Zach finally finds something real and solid to hold on to – a .38 revolver. Maybe it is time to take justice into his own hands… ‘This haunting, life-affirming novel further burnishes Cadnum’s reputation as an outstanding novelist.’ Kirkus Reviews, pointer review
