Face It

A gutsy adventure book for boys (and girls) aged 10-15, set in the Marlborough Sounds. Two teenage boys and a girl are left alone on an island in the Sounds, which is soon invaded by some gangsters with guns. The plot involves political activism, the trials of relationships and friendships, humour, death, kidnapping, capture, escape, survival against the odds. This is a gripping, un-put-downable story where each chapter ends with a cliffhanger, culminating in a suitably dramatic final climax. A simple plot overflowing with drama, shootings and close-call escapes, the book contains three finely drawn characters that readers will identify and empathise with on many levels.
