Homebird

When Nicky Morris is sent to boarding school, his parents hope that he will make a success of his life. But a few weeks later he is on the run, his life in tatters. He meets sympathetic Carla, who agrees to let him stay in the squat she shares with a prostitute, thief and drug-dealer. The others worry that Nicky will attract police attention, but they are forced to tolerate him by Scag, Carla’s boyfriend, who has other, more sinister plans for Nicky. . .

A compelling teenage story with the appeal of bestselling, controversial novels like Melvyn Burgess’ “Junk”.
