Olivia Kidney

Olivia Kidney’s new apartment building is the pits. And after having to move so many times, she’s the expert. She thinks the world of her dad, but why does he have to keep losing his jobs all of the time? She’s sick of never having the chance to make friends and she hates being the outsider.

But Olivia’s about to get the shock of her life. When she’s locked out of her flat one night, she unwittingly kick-starts a bizarre chain of events in which only one thing is certain: this is no ordinary apartment building. Behind the faceless doors and windows lies an extraordinary world of murderous pirates, multi-coloured talking lizards and exiled princesses. Olivia thinks her neighbours must be mad. But it is more than just doors they are opening. For Olivia is beginning to ask questions about her own life and deal with the sadness that haunts her.
