Shape My World: A Lift the Flap Book

Can you find the circle, square, triangle or other shapes in these pictures? After reading the rhyming text which gives you further clues, open the flaps to see if you spotted them all! Ten shapes are ‘hidden’ within bold images from the National Library’s Collection: a spiral in a moko design, a triangle in a star map, a circle in a cartwheel, a cross on a ship’s flag. Inside the easy-to-open sturdy flaps, ‘did you know’ facts and questions encourage closer examination of the pictures. The shapes reproduced on each glossy page stand out in matt varnish, providing a tactile, as well as a visual experience. Tested with preschoolers who gave it a huge ‘thumbs up’ and enjoyed its interactive nature, Shape my World! combines colourful images, rhyming text and extra information for inquisitive minds.
