The Sock Monster

Glenn Melenhorst’s unique illustrations start as photographs of anything that might inspire him (either texturally or in terms of location). He then plans his layouts on paper and builds the scene using simple shapes in 3D to indicate light and shape. It’s at the painting stage that he adds all the details (like faces and hands) and the warmth that is very often missing from straight 3D imagery.
