The Most Beautiful Egg of All

When Flo the chicken catches sight of herself in a mirror and is surprised to see she is green, she thinks she is very special to be green while all other chickens are white. She prances around the yard telling all the other chicks how special she is, and after awhile, stops speaking to chickens all together because they tell her she is not different at all.

When Rooster Doodle holds a contest for the chicken that can lay the most beautiful egg, Flo is certain she will lay a green egg more beautiful than the other hens. Flo lays an ordinary white egg like all the others, but hopes that her chick will hatch from the egg as a green baby chicken. But after her baby chick has hatched and is just as yellow as all the other chicks, Flo realises that she isn’t more special than her chicken friends because she is green. They are all the same – proud mothers of beautiful baby chicks!
