Treasure Hunt

By Allan Ahlberg About · Illustrated by Gillian Tyler

Tilly loves a treasure hunt. Each morning her mother hides her breakfast banana in the kitchen and her dad hides her rabbit in the garage. Tilly hunts and hunts until she finds them. “My treasure” she cries when she finds them. At bedtime it’s Tilly’s mum and dad who do the hunting! A warm family story complemented by delightfully detailed illustrations.

Allan Ahlberg

In the early 1960s, Allan studied teacher training in Sunderland, where he also met Janet, his future wife. He had tackled a wide variety of jobs, ranging from postman to plumber’s mate before working as a primary teacher for ten years. Janet, however, discovering that she ‘couldn’t do the policing job’, went on to study graphic design, which led her to her vocation as an illustrator.
