Animal Rights Activist

“Get Involved!” explores the world of social activism. Each fascinating book will inspire children to learn about the rights all humans have as well as their responsibilities for the world, its peoples, and animals. ‘Special Field Notes’ sections bring the words of prominent activists to life. ‘Get Active!’ boxes encourage exploration and research, and offer everyday ways to become a positive force for peacefully changing the world. The fight for animal rights can be controversial. Modern champions for animal rights believe that animals should not be regarded as property, and they should not be used for food, clothing, for entertainment, or in scientific research. This illuminating book helps explain the difference between animal welfare and animal rights, and what ‘cruelty’ is and who defines it.
