1970'S: It's Time for Change

This is the decade when Australia caught up with the rest of the world in social development. It is a period of political and economic turmoil, when an elected government was dismissed and the nation was shaken by natural and human-made disasters.

This book tells how Australians discovered their own culture through a renewed film industry as well as television programs, theatre and literature. It is also about times of political opportunism and new ideals, of feminism and indigenous rights, and of new ways of thinking.

This is The 1970s.
