Basilisk

By NM Browne About

A brilliantly imagined and original fantasy novel, which will draw you into a dark and disturbing world.
Basilisk is a rich and evocative story of greed, power and deception which sweeps from the underground cave network of the Combers, living like spiders amongst the endless tunnels and ropes, to the beautiful city inhabited by Abovers. These two worlds should never meet, but when the body of a murdered Abover appears in the combs, their worlds begin to draw closer and the corrupt dictator Arkel sees that his power over both is threatened. Rej must leave the combes and pick up the mysterious trail of the dead man, which will lead him to something far more sinister.

NM Browne

N.M. Browne lives in London and is the author of Warriors of Camlann, Hunted, and Warriors of Alavna. She was born in the North of England to Welsh parents. This background inspired a fascination with all things Celtic and an interest in how earlier societies survived the bleakness of a northern winter. In spite of strenuous practice she is quite unable to shape shift, perform magic or indeed communicate telepathically. She is however very good at shouting and bossing people about, which is just as well, as she has four children, a husband, a bearded dragon and a house full of escaped crickets.
