Be Quiet, Mike!

Digga digga digga digga zat zoom crash/Leslie Patricelli’s lovable (but noisyl) new character finds an ingenious way to create a sound all his own. Even before he was born, Monkey Mike started drumming. Kick! Thump! Pow! Wherever he goes, his rhythms sing: swish, thack, go his books; bang, clank, goes the dustbin; tap, tap, go his pencils; and ‘Be Quiet, Mike!’ yells everyone around him. But one day Mike sees a real drum set in a shop window – and puts his hands-on talent to work in a most impressive way. With the bold graphic style and clever details her readers love, Leslie Patricelli strikes a cymbal for active, high-energy little monkeys everywhere. The many different sounds and high-energy story make this a great read-aloud. Nothing if not resourceful, Mike turns ordinary household items into a first-rate drum kit and produces great music. This is an adorable new character from Leslie Patricelli, creator of the ever popular baby board books “Dummy and Blankie”.
