Big Think: The Big Bang Theory in Black and White

While most people have heard of the Big Bang, few are familiar with the details of the story. This book aims to present this complex theory in a way that can be easily understood. Both children and adults with little scientific literacy can watch the story of the universe unfold through a series of black and white drawings. The titles of the drawings form a simple version of the story while the text gives a more comprehensive explanation of the Big Bang.

Greg Sugden

Greg Sugden, who wrote and illustrated The Big Think has a science degree and makes his living as an artist. For the past 18 years he has lived and worked in the historic village of Braidwood, near Canberra, Australia where he has a studio / gallery. He has always had an interest in cosmology and with this project, his aim was to make the Big Bang Theory accessible to a wider audience. Both teenagers and adults with little scientific literacy will be able to enjoy the experience of watching the story of the universe unfold in pictures without all the jargon and mathematical formulae. By representing gravity, energy and subatomic particles as characters, he presents this complex theory in a way that is both entertaining and easy to follow.
