Brave Irene

Irene Bobbin’s mother has made the most beautiful dress in the world for the duchess, but is too ill to deliver it for tonight’s ball. So brave Irene – a fan of snow – dresses warmly, packages up the dress and heads out into a raging storm. The deep snow and the howling wind have other ideas, however, driving the indomitable girl along and snatching the parcel from her determined grasp: Irene does not give up, and will face several snowy disasters before her bravery finally pays off in an evening she’ll never forget. “Brave Irene” displays William Steig’s customary enchanting illustrations and witty writing in this story of determination and adventure.
