Citizenship

The Democracy series is designed to help students learn about democracy and its history. It enables students to see how democracy works in Australia and around the world, and explores the many ways in which citizens participate in the democratic process.
Suitable for 10-14 year olds.

Citizenship explores the role of the citizen in a democracy. It considers what it means to be a citizen, and why being a citizen is so important. It also highlights the connections between citizens and government, and looks at ways that citizens can participate in democracy from outside the government structure by joining social reform groups or protesting on particular issues.
