Classic Horse and Pony Stories

Horses of all kinds figure in this anthology: Spanish ponies shipwrecked on their way to the gold mines of Peru; a wild Australian mare terrified that humans will capture her foal; Flicka, a mustang on the point of death, nursed back to life by a boy. We also read of Pegasus the winged horse, and laugh with Lewis Carroll’s Alice as she watches the White Knight’s hopeless attempts at staying in the saddle. DK’s story collections combine the best in children’s fiction from around the world – classics and modern classics, as well as lesser known writers for children to discover.
