Democracy Around the World

The Democracy series is designed to help students learn about democracy and its history. It enables students to see how democracy works in Australia and around the world, and explores the many ways in which citizens participate in the democratic process.
Suitable for 10-14 year olds.

Democracy Around the World examines several democratic countries and discusses how and why people in these countries took on democracy, the kind of structures they chose for their government and the type of electoral systems they have put in place. It also explores the safeguards in place to ensure that democracy is maintained in these countries, and examines some of the successes and failures of the democratic process that these countries have experienced.
