Doctor Frankenstein's Other Monster

Not many people know about Doctor Frankenstein’s other monster.
He wanted a son he could call Frank Junior.
So he made one.
But young Frank experienced the problems many people face who are different.
Until, that is, he met a girl who accepted him, nuts and bolts and all.

The story is told in eight short chapters.
When young Frank Junior is brought to life by a shot of 240 volts, he leaves a
startled Doctor Frankenstein behind and goes looking for a playmate.
But Frank Junior finds that the world is an unfriendly place, and the bellicose
response of both kids and adults make it appear a very weird place as well.
Happily, Frank Junior has been imbued with some resilience and persistence,
qualities that are able to see him through the awkward times.
This book, originally published as Doctor Frank’s Monster (Random House, 1993), includes some new and revised text and illustrations.
