When the hippos’ river dries up they come to share the elephants’ river. The elephants aren’t happy and complain to Elmer, who sets off to see what he can do. He soon discovers the problem and finds a way to solve the problem to the satisfaction of all concerned. This is the eleventh picture book about a favourite patchwork elephant.

David Mckee

David McKee was born in Devon where he had a straightforward, comfortable upbringing, and from grammar school he went on to Plymouth Art College, where he had a traditional training. David has produced several characters that have developed into book series, including King Rollo, Melric the Magician and Mr Benn. His most famous creation is Elmer the Patchwork Elephant. Elmer is now published in more than 20 countries and there is a range of merchandise available from London Emblem and other companies worldwide, including jigsaw puzzles and soft toys.
