I Saw an Ant on the Railway Track

Well, I saw an ant on the railroad track.
The rail was bright.
The ant was black.
He was walking along, tickety-tack.
(That’s the sound of an ant on a railroad track.)
Jack sees the ant, and diverts the oncoming train in time! The ant and
Jack share lunch together.
Very well-written rhyme creates the sound of the oncoming train and
the tension of not knowing whether this ant will be saved. The rhythm
that pervades the rhyming text, coupled with the dramatic illustrations,
make this a stunning book that will be a favourite for all.
