After studying English and Drama at Manchester University, Julia Jarman became a teacher. She has been writing for over fifteen years. Julia keeps in touch with readers through her numerous visits to schools and libraries. Erica-Jane Waters is a newcomer to the Hodder list. Her most recent picture book – The Perfect Monster – has been nominated for the Nottingham Children’s Book Award. She has worked with Meadowside, Usborne and Kingfisher.

Lynne Chapman has illustrated over 25 children’s books in the last ten years. She works from her home, a Victorian house on the edge of the Peak District National Park in England where she lives with her husband.
