Keane

At 14 years old Roy Keane was told he was too small to be a professional footballer. For the next four years, club after club turned him down, until Cobh Ramblers finally took a chance on him. His performances for the semi-professional Irish team caught the eye of a scout from Nottingham Forest, and Keane’s determination, skill and grit impressed their legendary manager Brian Clough.Having established himself at Forest as one of the best young midfield prospects around, he was snapped up by Alex Ferguson’s Manchester United, where he developed into a world-class player and a fiery, formidable captain.
