Lady Dance

An historical novel of a young peasant girl who has lost her family to the horrors of the Bubonic Plague as it swept through Europe during the Middle Ages. Poverty, ignorance and pestilent death are interlaced with the surreal lightness and joyous abandonment of ‘Lady Dance’, a mentally ill noblewoman who draws a small group of plague survivors into her radiance. With delightful pencil illustrations and information and recipes from Medieval times this intriguing book provides a fascinating look at life in Medieval Europe. Will appeal to readers aged 11+.
