Little Twitchings story is one of warmth, innocence, gentleness, hope and the caring guidance of a loving mother. AUTHOR Phil has written over forty books for children from picture books to novels. His first book was a picture book called Goodness Gracious! – Published by Omnibus Books and illustrated by Craig Smith. It was released in 1989. The youngest of eight children Phil was born in the seaside town of Pt Broughton on the Yorke Peninsula in South Australia. His latest novel is based on his childhood memories of life in a small country town entitled, Danny Allen Was Here, it was published by Pan Macmillan in March 2007. In November 2007 Phil was awarded a Grant from the Literature Board of the Australia Council. ILLUSTRATOR Richard grew up in a small Victorian town. After moving to the city he began mural paintingand later ended up working as a freelance graphic designer.

Phil Cummings

Phil Cummings was born in the small seaside town of Port Broughton in South Australia. He is the youngest of eight children with four brothers and three sisters. Life as a kid for Phil was a fabulous adventure. He was on a farm for the first eight or nine years of his life. When his family left the farm they moved to the mid north of South Australia to a railway town called Peterborough. His older brothers worked on the steam trains. The windows in his house would rattle constantly as the trains rumbled through the rail yards. When Phil left school he worked in a local garage, in the abattoirs and played sport constantly until he left to attend teachers’ college.
