Lucky Socks

Kevin’s week couldn’t get any more unlucky: his buttons keep popping off his shirt, his
bicycle tyre goes flat, his beetle escapes from its bug jar and there’s cabbage stew for
lunch! Then, on Friday, Kevin puts on his yellow socks and things take a radically different
turn. He’s chosen to be the star in the school play, Billy Bennet invites him to his house to
build a den, and his ball doesn’t go over the garden fence, once! Kevin is sure his luck
has changed, but then, on the morning of school sports day, Kevin can’t find those lucky
yellow socks anywhere . . .
