Save the Bones for Henry Jones

Following the phenomenal success of Mr. Froggy Went A-Courtin’, James Reyne and wendy
straw have collaborated once again to create a brilliant new children’s book to be published
just in time for christmas. titled Save the Bones for Henry Jones, it is based on the famous
song of the same name [Barker/lee], but is given a whole new twist when sung by James
and illustrated by wendy.
James Reyne is one of australia’s most popular and talented musicians who
regularly performs to sell-out crowds throughout australia and new Zealand. over the past
couple of years, he has been working on a new range of songs, most with their roots in jazz
and blues but reinterpreted for a broader and more contemporary audience. his renditions
of Save the Bones and Mr. Froggy are both raucous, funny and strong, yet underpinned by
exacting musicianship and fine-tuning. James has an infectious passion for these songs
which catches the ear of the listener, regardless of age, who is then found tapping, swinging
and dancing along to each song. combined with wendy’s animated illustrations, this makes
for an irrestible mix.
