That Dolphin Thing

Both funny and tough, this novel deals with issues that readers mostly prefer to ignore. The story of Mac, whose Mum is a professor of jokes, but when she is diagnosed with cancer his reaction is to look for cancer jokes to cheer her up. He makes a rash promise to go with her on a swim with the dolphins although he is terrified of the sea and then invents reasons to avoid the commitment. His relationship with Killer complicates things even more.

Adelaide writer Ian Bone has an extensive, award-winning background in children’s television, producing drama and situation comedy.
