The Billycart Ride

Michael’s dad builds a billycart from dusty wooden crates, four-be-two and rusty little rocket parts that fell from outer space. Michael and his brothers are delighted. They christen it Lightning Runner, and haul it right up to the top of Widow’s Peak, high above the market place. Michael bravely takes his seat and hurtles down the hill, narrowly avoiding a collision with a Bedford Lorry and plummeting into the market place with a load of timber logs – the Bedford Lorry’s load – on his tail. The shoppers take to their heels, the marketplace is flattened, Michael ends up in a vat of sausage mix and the billycart is run through the mincer by a very angry butcher.
Fast-paced and action packed, in the style of the immensely popular Mulga Bill’s Bicycle, The Billycart Ride will have children and adults alike entertained and amused.
