The Great Pyramid Robbery

Set in the land along the River Nile and its delta 2000 years before the Ancient Egyptians, this story captures everyday life of the time overlayed strongly with a spiritual mythology and magic. Senu is the son of a scribe who has refused to release his ka, a spirit companion, usually discarded at puberty. He and his friend Reonet become intertwined in a complex plot to rob the great pyramid but there are darker forces at work than Senu at first realizes and these awaken in him a mystical force of which he has been blissfully unaware. A good read for the competent reader aged 11+
