Rudyard Kipling (1865-1936) was born in Bombay (now Mumbai), India. The Jungle Book, which he published in 1894, became a children’s classic all over the world. Tales of every kind continued to flow from Kipling’s pen, including Kim (1901) and Just So Stories (1902).
