The Life of Jesus

Some of the world’s greatest paintings depict scenes from the life of Jesus, including the Annunciation, the Nativity, the Baptism, the Sermon on the Mount, the Last Supper, the Trail, the Crucifixion, the Resurrection and the Ascension.
In addition to the book’s main large paintings, magnificently reproduced, smaller paintings are used as commentary. Moreover, symbolic elements, such as the lily, the dove and the open book in the Annunciation are explained, and each of the people represented is identified through a graphic reduction of the main painting. The New Testament texts accompanying each image adumbrate and enhance each visual scene, deepening the reader’s understanding of the painting.
A clear, informative and visually pleasurable introduction to Jesus’ life as rendered by some of the greatest painters of all time.
