The Magic Fire at Warlukurlanga

This Walpiri Dreaming narrative focuses on the tragic consequences of deceiving others, showing that this may lead to further deception. By tricking his sons into believing he is blind an old man is deceived in turn by his sons who kill his pet kangaroo and serve it to him as a meal. Their actions place them outside Walpiri Law and results in their deaths. These illustrations are by students from the Yuendumu Education Centre.
