The Messenger

Ed Kennedy is nineteen. Very human, spectacularly ordinary, a taxi driver who plays cards and hangs out with his equally unambiguous and aimless mates. His mother’s greatest disappointment he confounds himself by foiling an inept bank robber. His fifteen minutes of fame results in the appearance of a playing card in his letterbox, cryptically inscribed with three addresses and so begins his extraordinary journey, deciphering clues and entering the lives of strangers to perform acts of human kindness. Universal themes with very Australian humour and heart it is real, fantastic and dramatic, a confronting of everyday life. Some strong language, suitable for upper secondary and adult readers.
