The Two Towers Insider's Guide

The official children’s film tie-in guide to the creatures and cultures in the forthcoming film.

A full-colour paperback guide to the monsters and peoples in the Lord of the Rings film trilogy. Packed with photos and drawings, this fascinating and accessible introduction shows how the filmmakers have realised the inhabitants of Tolkien’s Middle-earth. The book includes exclusive photos of creatures familiar from the first film, from the benign Hobbits to Lurtz, the ill-fated leader of the Uruk-hai, as well as some whose photos never before appeared in books – Sauron, the Balrog, the Cave Troll, and the Watcher in the Water. The book also includes photos and details of races prominent in the new Two Towers movie, including the Rohirrim, the tree-like Ents, the wolverine Wargs, and the flying Fell Beasts.

Serving both as an exciting introduction for children and a visual reference for adult movie buffs, the fictional world is augmented in the book with some behind-the-scenes details on how each creature has been designed and brought to life, revealing just enough of the filmmaking magic not to ruin the illusion!
