The World of Festivals

Festivals play an important part in the lives of people all over the world. Many countries celebrate some of the same festivals, and most countries have at least one festival that is uniquely their own. This book explores the occasion behind each festival – from holy days to fund days – and describes the kinds of ceremonies that take place, from torchlight processions to street dances and special meals.
