The Year of the Pig

Pig had never been a winner. He was last to finish tests. He was last picked for games. He was even the last to have his birthday. It seemed his destiny was to always finish last. When the school race came around, nobody gave Pig any chance of winning. But Pig remained optimistic. Perhaps this would be his year… 2019 is the Year of the Pig (February 5, to be exact), making this book a perfect gift for any piglets born in this year. It is a heartwarming story about never giving up hope, looking out for others and remaining true to oneself, and features a loveable central character that is sure to strike a chord with both children and parents alike. The Year of the Pig deftly combines a moving fiction tale with non-fiction information relating to the Chinese Zodiac, is beautifully illustrated in watercolour and digital art and has a gentle style that will encourage repeat readings.
