Trickery at the Toyworx

Rupert, Tyla and Candy think they are the luckiest children in the land when they move into their new home, the house of toys once owned by world-famous toymaker, Wedsley Foxamosh. Their jet-setting parents are overseas, so the children explore the house with the housekeepers, Mr Smurley and Miss Tilda, enjoying the chessboard walls, the playing-cards roof and the jigsaw puzzle doors! But at night, strange noises creep into their bedroom. Food goes missing. The children fear the house is haunted…

What is the secret of the house of toys? What really happened to Wedsley Foxamosh? The children must solve the mystery of his death to get Foxamosh Toys running again. Foxamosh toys are so weird and so wonderful, surely Mr Foxamosh was helped by another life form – could it be his mysteriously hidden helpers that keep Rupert, Tyla, Candy, Mr Smurley and Miss Tilda awake at night?

A junior novel/fantasy that explores the possibilities of play, but also the dangers of playing with fire.
