We're Going on a Bear Hunt 25TH Anniversary Editio

For brave hunters and bear-lovers, this is the classic chant-aloud by Michael Rosen and Helen Oxenbury in a beautiful 25th-anniversary edition. We’re going on a bear hunt. We’re going to catch a big one. Will you come too? For a quarter of a century, readers have been swishy-swashying and splash-sploshing through this award-winning favourite. Follow and join in the family’s excitement as they wade through the grass, splash through the river and squelch through the mud in search of a bear. What a surprise awaits them in the cave on the other side of the dark forest! It was the winner of the 1989 Smarties Book Prize and highly commended for the Kate Greenaway Medal. This anniversary edition is a jacketed paperback – embellished with gold foil, gold bear logos and a special gold sticker.

Michael Rosen

Michael J. Rosen is an acclaimed author, editor and illustrator of some forty books for both adults and young people. Many are inspired by his lifelong experience with animals; he studied Zoology at university, has worked as a dog trainer and founded a granting programme to support animal welfare organizations. He says of ChaseR, When I moved from the major city where I’d lived most of my life to a rural community, the changes were monumental. And I often thought, What if I hadn’t actually chosen to live here? I wrote this novel not only to imagine this new way of life from a teenage point of view, but also to consider the complicated (and always teetering) balance we try to achieve, living, as we all do, amid an ever-diminishing natural world. Michael J. Rosen lives in Ohio, USA.
