Dollar for a Dolphin

Dollar for a Dolphin

The Angels can hardly believe what they’re seeing: a pod of dolphins herding a school of fish from the open sea into Benwerrin Bay, where they can feast on them at their leisure!

Soon everyone’s talking about the dolphins and Ms Lee is the kind of teacher who’s smart enough to reorient her program to what’s happening right now. The class learns about some of the differences between dolphins and porpoises and she suggests that they take part in Adopt-a-Dolphin.

They can raise funds as a class project, and then take an excursion down to Queenscliff for one of the dolphin-watching tours by boat. They can even swim with the dolphins.

So it’s a dollar for a dolphin: everyone brings in their money and with the money from the toffee stall, there’s more than enough to support the dolphin program.

Then the money disappears! Greash and Foxie are the usual suspects.

But not even this could spoil an unforgettable day out for everyone.

This is Margaret Clark at her best. If you want family adventure, these are contemporary classics.
